“We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.”
Truly beautiful, inspiring, eye – opening.
Words of Maya Angelou narrated through the commercial, beautifully stated, she expressed her thoughts on how the human family is similar, “more alike than unalike.” With the world filled with bigotry, hatred, racism, and all of the negativity, this ad reminds us that we, as human beings, are just alike. There is certainly no room for intolerance and hatred.
Have any of you seen this ad on TV yet? It’s commercials like this that are touching and heartfelt. It triggers our emotions in every way possible. The commercial, itself, isn’t complicated to understand. The message is clear and well illustrated. Maya Angelou “notes the obvious differences” which highlights diversities between culture, personality, sexuality, and socioeconomic status.
It shows that the iPhone is able to capture all walks of life, in different environments. With only an iPhone, we can generally capture life in a high resolution content. What’s great about this ad is that it involves the customers, using their content to illustrate truly what the product can offer. The execution is simple, yet very well done. The simplicity of this ad creates attention and familiarity to the audience. Most importantly, the audience does not need to examine the message behind this ad, as it is already clearly expressed by Maya Angelou.
Well done, Apple!
